Golden shores the perfect background for the third stage of the ΔΕΗ Tour of Hellas
Stage 3 of the ΔΕΗ Tour of Hellas starts from the Navarino Dunes area of Costa Navarino in Messinia, where lies in one of the most enchanting coastal areas of the Mediterranean
The route to Methoni, the city that, according to Homer, Agamemnon offered to Achilles to appease his anger, will mesmerise the peloton with its beautiful landscape, while at the same time, the riders will get themselves prepared for the first intermediate sprint on the way to Foinikounta, in the 28th kilometre of the stage.
The first cat. 1 KOM follows at Poros, just 37km after the start and from there the peloton passes through Koroni, a coastal town famous for its Venetian Castle.
The coastal route will take riders to the town of Petalidi, and then the leading pack will fight for the points in the second intermediate sprint, next to the Kalamata Airport after 88.4 km.
In the village of Kopanaki, located just 20 km North-East of Kyparissia and at an altitude of 181m, comes the 2nd KOM, some 133.2km after the start of the race.
Kopanaki is the starting point of the final descent on the way to Kalo Nero, for a spectacular finish in Kyparissia city centre.
