The ΔΕΗ International Tour of Hellas 2024 concludes today with the 5th stage starting from the Acropolis and ending at the Panathenaic Stadium.
The ΔΕΗ International Tour of Hellas 2024 concludes with the fifth and final 132,54-kilometre-long stage, which will be held entirely in Attica. The Acropolis, the Athenian Riviera and the circuit in the centre of the Greek capital are expected to entertain the riders, while at the finishing point in the Panathenaic Stadium, a big fan zone and several side activities will be set up for cycling fans.
The peloton will start at 10:30 from under the Sacred Rock of the Acropolis and through Syngrou Avenue will reach the seaside road towards the Athenian Riviera (Paleo Faliro, Kalamaki, Alimos, Elliniko, Glyfada, Voula, Vouliagmeni, Varkiza, Vari and Agia Marina). After a U-turn in Agia Marina, the riders will follow the same route on the opposite way towards the centre of Athens. They will then enter the 6.42-kilometre-long circuit, in which they will make ten laps.
The circuit is counter-clockwise, starting from the Panathenaic Stadium and taking the riders through Vasileos Konstantinou St., Hilton, Vasilissis Sophias Avenue, Panepistimiou St., Aiolou St., Stadiou St., Vasileos Georgiou St., Amalias Avenue, Syngrou Avenue, Athanasios Diakos St., and Ardittos, until the finish in front of the Panathenaic Stadium most probably with a bunch sprint.
The winners’ award ceremony will be the final act of the ΔΕΗ International Tour of Hellas 2024. Cycling teams and fans will hopefully meet again next year for the 2025 edition of the Tour.
