Agrinio and Chalkis to play host to start and finish of respective stages in Greece’s most prestigious sports event – The Tour’s checkpoints and full schedule are now available

Preparations for the fourth edition of the Tour of Hellas’ modern era are in full swing. What is yet to be revealed is the hosts’ squad, the only national team in the race along with Cyprus. Eighteen professional teams and a stellar line-up are expected to start the race on April 2 in Greece’s flagship cycling competition.

Final preparations are underway as well in the city of Patras, which will host the teams’ sign-up and presentation on April 1. The following day, the Tour’s 20 teams - among them World Tour teams Jayco AlUla and XDS Astana - will leave Patras to complete the first stage in the city of Agrinio.

The 2025 Tour of Hellas consists of 5 days of action across 3 Regions and a total distance of 811.19 km.

Dutch champion Dylan Groenewegen of Jayco AlUla, winner of 6 Tour de France stages and of 74 races in all competitions, stands out amongst this year’s impressive line-up.

Italian Diego Ulissi, who boasts 8 Giro d’Italia victories, is another star rider representing XDS Astana, a team that has Greek legendary former rider and nowadays coach, Vasilis Anastopoulos in their ranks. Anastopoulos, along with Kanellos Kanellopoulos, are the sole local Tour of Hellas past winners.

After the completion of Stage 1, four more exciting days will follow, which will see the participants ride through Western Greece, Central Greece, and Attica.

The 2025 Tour of Hellas stages are as follows:

Stage 1

Patra to Agrinio

Distance: 144.44 km

Elevation gain: 1,239 m

Stage 2

Agrinio to Arachova

Distance: 176.55 km

Elevation gain: 3,063 m

Stage 3

Delphi to Chalkis

Distance: 151.78 km

Elevation gain: 1,619 m

Stage 4

Chalkis to Olympic Village (Municipality of Acharnai)

Distance: 186 km

Elevation gain: 3.764 m

Stage 5

Nea Makri (Municipality of Marathon) – Syntagma Square

Distance: 156.57 km

Elevation gain: 1,521 m

Side activities – Prize draw

Hundreds of children from the cities that the ΔΕΗ Tour of Hellas 2025 will cross during the five exciting days of action, will feel the vibes of a high-class cycling race and enjoy multiple side activities in the ΔΕΗ fan zones.

Prepared by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, Cycling Greece, DIMITRIOS VIKELAS, an Institute for Sports, Olympic, Paralympic Education, History and Values, as well as ΔΕΗ, the Tour’s major sponsor and namesake of the event, fan events and training sessions focus on promoting cycling as the dominant means of transportation, practicing and leisure activity. “Power Up the Race” is the motto of the race.
