Patra is the third-largest city in Greece, is located in the northwestern Peloponnese and stands as one of the most significant urban centers in the country. Agrinio combines warm hospitality with exceptional natural beauty. Visitors can immerse themselves in the city’s unique culture while enjoying unforgettable landscapes. As the largest city in the Aetolia-Acarnania region, Agrinio boasts a rich heritage and breathtaking scenery. Known for its tradition in tobacco cultivation, the city merges its historic past with modern development, serving as a commercial, cultural, and educational hub in the wider region. Agrinio is surrounded by remarkable natural landmarks, most notably Lake Trichonida, the largest natural lake in Greece, which offers a serene setting for relaxation and various outdoor activities.   • University of Patras

    University of Patras (UPatras) is one of the most distinguished universities nationally and internationally owing to its manifold and innovative action in the fields of Natural Sciences, Engineering, Health Sciences, Humanities, Social and Economic Sciences, along with its remarkable research activity. The University was founded in November 1964 with the vision of becoming widely-recognized for cultivating the spirit of international cooperation and scientific progress. In June 2013, the University of Western Greece was integrated into UPatras. In May 2019, the majority of the Departments of the Technological Educational Institute of Western Greece were also integrated into UPatras. The University’s Departments function in the cities of Patras, Messolonghi, Agrinio. To manage its premises and facilities, the University has adopted the principles of sustainable development. Rio Campus is located in a significant area in terms of transportation and tourism, in close distance from the historical center of Patras, Greece’s third-largest city, where development of new technologies is vastly supported. Since its foundation, the University has turned towards an international orientation and adopted the European Strategy. In this context, it participates in programs, consortia and agreements with other higher education Institutions, research institutes and organizations abroad.

    Municipality of the Sacred City of Messolonghi. The site of the Exodus of the Free Besieged, with its long and multifaceted contribution and tradition: to Greek history, the arts, culture, and literature, as well as to cycling. An authentic cycling city, as the bicycle is an integral part of the local culture and identity. Before you, endless routes unfold, taking you from the Garden of Heroes and the various monuments of the urban environment to the lagoon, the salt flats, and the nature of the Greek countryside.

    The Municipality of Xiromero, a small Municipality that boasts a beautiful natural environment that combines the sea and mountainous areas of rare beauty, is very pleased to participate and become part of the top cycling competition in Greece, ''PPC Cycling Tour of Greece'', which returns for the fourth consecutive year, from April 2 to 6 and has already been included in the official calendar of the European Union (UCI) for 2025. We consider this participation, on the one hand, as an opportunity to highlight the sport of cycling and the ideal conditions for development within the boundaries of our Municipality, on the other hand, to promote and advertise the Municipality of Xiromero.
